help: FFmpeg preset auto selection by file type (windows)

Filed under: Stuff — Seth Wisely @ 10:18

XP SP2 or XP SP3
either CCCP or roll yer own FFmpeg

I would like a particular video profile preset to be autoloaded by either video codec or file extension.  Ideally some filename triggers would be nice.

No idea… arg… cross post to doom9 seems like a fine idea… low on patience today

looks like a duck

a little dated but a madness for the method on this workstation

FFmpeg automatically select video preset criteria

firefox user preferences are for gasp the USER and not the developer

sure some extensions have default preferences for the obvious reasons, but hello arrogant extensions developers?

using “updates” to set MY preferences for MY profile on MY workstation to what you want?

no

user.js

yes

more extreme options exist other than “your” jar

when I (un)tick I prefer not to use “feature” Z I do not want it reverted by you wretches

try selling your extension as a retail product.  after watching the zero for a few weeks dial down the hubris.  stop putting nasty in jars.

TeraCopy a must have utility. But it could be so much better with UFD

http://codesector.com/teracopy.php

Windows 7 (vista) finally integrated DISPLAY of copy speed into the explorer widget.. yay?  It’s always been fun to watch the transfer rate in XP and prior windowses.  But for UFD I would like nearish realtime  remaining space remaining count next to the transfer rate in the TeraCopy window.  It already shows this information when there is insufficient space on the target volume.  Say a given copy required 3 gigs of space.  As one freed the displayed space the required amount would decrease commensurately.

Yes, my grammar is fantastic today for reasons I shall not be sharing.

UFD : USB Flash Drive

CodeSector also makes creepy products made possible by google’s whole new line of creepyware including android

“Show me your papers?”  nah… simply use android and as many “free” google products as possible

Google would never ever treat people as individual items in a global inventory!

new gadget trend: designed by feckless engineers for imbecilic customers — applies equally as well to ‘phones’

Filed under: CIO, gear — Seth Wisely @ 15:50

The iphone embodies the latter group essentially.

.

I was riding home in a friend’s car when friend received a picture message on the phone.  Having decidedly the best reply myself I was elected to send said reply.

Most phones have ‘soft touch’ buttons, or buttons whose function is governed by what appears on screen nearest it.  Natually that was the button I mashed.  No response from phone.  I mashed it down further for longer.  No response from phone.  Seeing the difficulty I was having friend took possession of phone saying “like this”.  Friend clicked a button for menu, navigated down three levels through menus to select text reply (to image message)

Really?  That GUI team needs to be flogged.

There were soft touch buttons but only available in modes after traversing menus.  Brilliant.

Maximus III Extreme P55-based motherboard: allows “Wireless Overclocking via Bluetooth”

Gee, what could possibly go wrong with remote controlled OverClocking?  Welcome to the ASUS Remotely Overclocked Boxen or Toasted (ASUS ROBOT: the other way to stimulate the economy).

WarDriving enthusiasts, blue pill driving, are not limited to merely toasting boxen.  The ASUS RC BlueTooth will enable no end of mayhem: controlling applications… virtualized malware. yay!

BlueTooth + admin user context + internet = pain
